Mindfulness- the Battle Against Brain Drain
Mental Wellness in teens looks very different than it did 10 years ago, in fact, their brains are even wired differently now. With so much information at their fingertips, comparison traps and expectations beyond their emotional intelligence, what are we to do as parents, educators and community stakeholders? How do we keep from being consumed by worry but also safeguard against crisis situations? Should the road map look differently if we looked at treatment of the whole person in today’s world? How would deeper relationships, connections and networks make a difference?
Join us for a discussion with Katie Newman, LCSW and Mental Health Coordinator for Forsyth County Schools, to get a deeper understanding of how we can grow as a family, achieve goals, find passion without the “brain drain.” Let’s explore what we can do together for a more positive, healthy Forsyth.
Mentor Me is offering a series of workshops on topics related to youth development, parenting, and ways we can support our children and teens.
